COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Gawad Kalinga 5K is a gentle rolling course run over three loops around the perimeter of Danehy Park. The starting line is near the picnic area on the grass between the soccer fields and the Cambridge Champions track. Runners fan out cross country style at the start and run south for 50 meters on grass to the perimeter fence and make a right turn to start the clockwise laps in the park. Each lap is approximately 1 mile. After completing 3 laps and passing the baseball fields for the last time, the runners take the path leading up the hill that overlooks the track. After the hill, the path circles the track and the finish line is at the centerline of the field and the northernmost curve of the track.
